Slippery Elm Bark’s soothing and lubricating effects can be used internally for the support of the digestive system and to provide healthy nutrients. It can also be used externally to be applied to scratches and other superficial wounds.
The product consists of long-chain sugar molecules, also known as polysaccharides, which form a slimy mass when exposed to water. This slimy mass sits like a layer on the inner stomach and intestinal wall and can support your pet’s gastrointestinal tract in a natural way – especially after extraordinary stress such as diarrhoea and vomiting.
In a study, a large number of dogs were treated with syrup made from elm bark. After only a few days of application, a significant improvement after diarrhoea and vomiting was achieved. The elm bark has been proven to lead to harmonization of the stomach and intestinal activity.
Another study has shown that elm bark supports the formation of mucus in the gastrointestinal tract – this prevents swallowed hairballs in cats from becoming matted and passing through the intestines more easily. Mix 4g of powder (1 measuring spoon equals 1g) with about 250ml of cold water in a steel pot. After a brief boil, remove the pot from the stove and continue stirring until the powder has completely dissolved. Let the slippery elm syrup cool down before drawing it into a syringe without a needle and administering it to your pet’s mouth.

Check the Temperature: Upon arrival, ensure the raw pet food is still cold to the touch or partially frozen. If it feels warm, don’t refreeze it. Provided the food is still cold to the touch, at 4°C or below, you can safely refreeze and use as normal.
Quality Check: Look for any unusual smell, discoloration, or signs of spoilage. If anything seems off, discard the food.

Your delicious meals are shipped frozen. Our insulated boxes are designed to keep your food cold during transit. They stay cold for 48 hours so there’s no need to be at home for delivery. That means if your box is left in a safe place or with a neighbour, you can just pop the food into the fridge or freezer when you get home.
At times our frozen meals defrost slightly whilst on their way to you, however this is expected especially in warmer weather, provided the food is still cold it is completely safe to pop them into the freezer to refreeze. We’ve done lots of testing on this, and we’d never suggest something we weren’t comfortable doing ourselves.
